French 1845 Officers Sword Built 1878

• Description:

  An excellent example of a French 1845 pattern officer's sword.  This blade shows an excellent plus blade.  The blade shows the 1845 Model markings and the arsenal date of manufacture 1878.  The 30 1/2" blade remains in spotless condition with the maker and dates engraved on spine.  The brass guard remains in excellent condition as does the walnut grips.  The serial # 11135 is stamped on the guard.  The sword rides in it's orignal scabbard SN 11135.  The scabbard shows areas of light pitting but remains in above average condition.  As with many of this sword pattern the twisted wire is missing from the grip.  An excellent example for the sword or militaria collection.
