  • Description:

Sn 103 is a 12 gauge single shot shotgun built by a Forehand and Wadsworth.  This example shows a 27 1/2" Damascus "Fine Twist" barrel.  This takes a 12 gauge black powder 2 1/2" cartridge.  The bore rates as bright very good.  The exterior of the barrel shows 70% original brown finish.  The receiver shows strong remnants of original nickel finish.  The receiver is mounted with a auto safety on the top left side.  The butt shows a very repairable  crack and its original butt plate.  There is very little information on this low production shotgun.  A piece for the shotgun fan.  Forehand and Wadsworth primarily built inexpensive handguns in the period of the 1870 to the late 1890's.  Tight barrels and action.  Not designed to fire modern 12 gauge ammo.
