Foot Artillery Sword Circa 1820's

    This sword shows a 25" blade that is unfullered, flat back and spear pointed.  The guard is all brass showing a shield shaped langet and a curled quillion.  The grips are ringed wood.  This sword was called the Spanish pattern hangar.  This sword was used by several European countries including the British foot artillery .  The blade shows some usage marks and small areas of corrosion.  This piece has not been cleaned and remains in it's as found condition.
