  78L8132 is a Canadian built Long Branch No 4 MK1* 303 rifle.  This is one of the 1944 dated Long Branch rifles shipped to England.  This rifle shows a bright excellent bore and matching numbers.  The rifle was restocked in England as the wood shows broad arrow and English markings.  It is also mounted with an English MKII rear sight and English brass butt plate.  Most of the metal components appear to be Long Branch.  The breech is marked England which was required prior to export out of England in the post war era.  A sound example of a Canadian Long Branch that probably returned to Canada as a surplus rifle imported by International Firearms of Montreal in 1950 or 1960's. The barrel shows a large C broad arrow mark on the Knox form.
