SN 8266 is an exceptional Walther built G41 rifle built in the first year of production showing original G41, SN 8266, AC, Nazi eagle. This gun shows all matching numbers to all component parts in correct locations. The 8mm bore shows no usage marks and rates excellent plus while both chamber and bolt face show no usage or rebound marks. The metal shows all original blue with the exception of the bolt travel wear on top of receiver. The wood shows no proof markings but is all correct and original to the rifle. On the internet there is an excellent review of the early G41 rifles. The commentator points out there were only 1,200 to 1,400 of these rifles completed. This rifle shows a much later serial number but is one of the first batch. The serial numbers were assigned after the factory worked out production problems in early 1941. We are very pleased to offer one of finest condition examples we have seen in over 60 years of dealing. The rifle may have been imported and sold by the late Allen Leaver who unearthed many scarce and collectable arms over his many years in the business. Leaver had European contacts that could not be matched.
