SN 15009 is an exceptional example of an officer purchased Webley WG Army Model.  This Webley was acquired by a Canadian, L.B. Webster.  This man was born in Kentivlle, NS.  From the basic information that we found he was in the 68th Canadian militia.  When the South African (Bore War) broke out he went to England, received a commission in the King's own Regiment.  From the information that we have he was wounded and invalided to his home.  He died of his wounds.  We enclose a partial copy of a newspaper notice of his dealth.  More information relating to his service could be retrieved from English Military records. This Webley was sold by the Army Navy Store, London (The records are available) .This revolver remains in above average condition.  The blue rates at 97-98% with slight loss on the top rib and left edge of the backstrap and the barrel flat.  Bright excellent plus bore, all matching numbers.  The grips show original finish and sound factory checkering.  This example shows the owners name and unit scratch engraved on the right lower frame.  This Webley rides in its' original officer purchased holster.  The holster is also scratch marked L.B.W. over the King's own.  An overall excellent plus example of a Webley WG Army.  This example is considered to be  very scarce being Bore war usage, a Canadian officer and above average condition.  An exceptional item for the Webley collection.
