Exceptional 18th Century Tulwar

• Description:

  This Indian Tulwar shows an excellent 29 1/2" blade.  The steel grip is of the classic form with disk pommel, short quillions and long langet.  The grip is chiselled in gold relief showing foliage and flowers.  It is highlighted in gold Keftgari work.  The blade is single edge with spear point.  The blade remains in very sound condition with a few scattered patches of light pitting. The base of the blade on the right side shows a square of gold Keftgari.  An above average condition piece retaining most of it's gold decoration.  This piece rides in it's original scabbard with relief gold tip.  An above average Tulwar as carried by upper class or ranking person.
