Early percussion pistol possibly duelling pistol, built by Richard Jackson, 19 Princess St Portman Market, London, 1831-1846. This pistol shows a 12" barrel with a silver sight, name plaque and band. The serial number,875, is on underside of barrel with London and view proofs. The barrel shows a very good to excellent 56 caliber smooth bore. The lock plate shows full engraving with makers name and address. The metal shows overall fine engraving on the hammer, trigger guard and butt cap. It is difficult to determine if this pistol was originally built in its current configuration or modified by the maker at a later date. This is an excellent example of Mr. Jackson's work.
