• Description:

  Enfield Rifle-Musket, pattern 1853 in 577 caliber.  This is one of the 3rd Model Enfields.  This excellent example shows a bright excellent bore in the 38/4" barrel.  The barrel shows clear crown VR proofs, a 900 yard rear sight and 90 to 95% original blue with some added blue on the area of the nipple, Knox form and bottum  2" of the barrel.  This area shows light pitting.  The lock is Enfield CR VR, broad arrow and 1861 date.  The lock rates excellent as to finish and internal parts.  This rifle musket shows its original chain nipple protector, Burton's spoon rammer retainer and its original straight rammer .  The wood on this example remains in excellent condition.  The finish is all original with a clear Enfield roundel, class 1 mark.  The brass is excellent showing clear inspection marks.  This piece is an excellent example of the Pattern 1853 rifled musket.  A piece for the British Military Collector.
