Deactivated Long Branch Chinese Contract Sten Gun

  SN 12L6519 is a deactivated Sten gun MKII built at Longbranch 1945.  The top of the mag housing is marked with Chinese markings.  The underside shows the Long Branch serial & date.  This Sten was part of the contract between Canada and China for weapons including the Inglis Hi Power.  When the contract was terminated the weapons that were part of the contract were placed in Canadian military stores.  A signifigant number of these marked weapons ended up in the Royal Canadian navy inventory. Over the years  we have noted Chinese marked Bren Gun, Hi Powers and Stens marked with Chinese markings.  This piece has been deactivated to current standards including a modified and removable magazine.
