  • Description:

SN 7389 is an interesting 10 gauge shotgun built circa late 1870's to 1880's.  This shotgun is found in an 1881 dealers catalogue, Charles Godfrey, who was a dealer in New York city.  His March 1881 catalogue shows this model Champion side snap action 10 gauge, 2.5" chamber, nickel mountings.  With twist barrel priced at $15 US.  This example shows a correct 31.5" Damascus barrel with a bright ,very good bore.  There is some slight corrosion.  The nickel is original and complete.  The top tang shows some strange rivets, is one piece and not repaired.  All parts show matching numbers.  The wood is sound and original.  A copy of the ad is included.  It is uncommon to find an inexpensive gun of this vintage in the condition of this piece as offered.  An item for the shotgun or curio collector.  PAL required for this antique in Canada.
