• Description:

  SN 5199 is a customized U.S. Springfield Model M2 22 rifle.  There were only 12,000 of the M2 rifles built.  This rifle was professionaly customized for a former owner.  The custom work is noted as follows.  Custom stock from Herters which shows a pronounced pistol grips and checkering.  The wood is selected top quality American walnut.  The butt is dense multigrain burl, with a roll over Monte Carlo cheek rest. From the pistol grip forward the wood transitions into straight preferred grain for forwood.The 24" original barrel shows a bright excellent plus bore.  The barrel is professionally mounted with an extend ramp site.  The rear sight is an adjustable Williams built for the Springfield action  The bolt was professionally jeweled. Note the M2 had a flush fitting mag.  The release button is on the bottom.  It is easier to remove the mag by engaging the button and pushing down the top of the mag.  The barrel shows an excellent blue . The receiver shows an excellent brown/copper finish.  An exceptional 22 rifle with super wood.
