• Description:

  This commercial percussion rifle shows an L.A.C. 1862 dated lockplate. This excellent plus example shows it's 39" barrel, 577 caliber with exellent plus three groove barrel of progressive depth.  The barrel shows a 900 yard rear sight and 98% original blue.  The only loss is at the base on the left side over the LAC and commercial proofs or marks.  All of the screws show the correct rounded tops.  This excellent example is walnut stock which shows most of it's orginal finish.  The forestock and wrist show an excellent course heavy checkering.  The butt shows a LAC rounded on the right side with an 1862 date matching the lock plate.  The brass fittings show a deep mellow colour with no indication of any polishing.  This commercial Enfield was probably built for a civilian target shooter.  The LOP of the butt is 14" as orginally ordered and built.  This rifle comes with it's orginal muzzle cover marked London Armory.  This Enfield target rifle remains in far above average condition considering it is 160 years from the date of manufacture.  An above average example for any Enfield collection.
