- Licensing Category: Antique

- Caliber/Gauge: .44 Cal
- Description:
Colt Army revolver one of the 58,966 delivered to the US army in 1863. SN#122555 shows the various inspector stamps on the metal and the cartouches on the grip panels. The finish on this Colt is overall brown/grey patina with a faded grey frame. This example is all matching numbers including the original wedge. Clear barrel and cylinder markings with cylinder scene. The bore shows light pitting and strong rifling. Both grip panels show a faint but visable inspectors cartouche. JSD( John S Duston) on the left and John Taylor on the right panel. The metal shows all of the sub inspectors marks ie. CC, H, W and T on the matching arbor. This revolver shows a sound crisp action. The overall appearance is above average. There is little original finish but there is little if any pitting on the overall brown finish. A very nice example of a U.S. issue Colt 1860 Army.
