The wood shows all original finish showing minor usage marks. This rare item comes with it's original bayonet which remaiins in excellent plus condition similar to the rifle. The only mark is a 56 on the tang. The 23 1/4" blade remains in excellent plus condition (in the bright) with a #15 on the top of the socket. A very scarce rifle and bayonet as aquired and issued during the U.S. civil war.
