  • Description:

SN 1604263 is a Chinese SKS mounted with the very scarce and uncommon redish synthetic jungle stock.  This piece shows a bright excellent bore and is pinned to the legal 5 shot mag capacity.  Overall this example shows original blue finish.  The trigger unit is matching but not the mag or bolt carrier.  The information that is "out there" indicates that the fiberglass stocks  were created for jungle usage. It is also indicated that the fiberglass stocks are relatively scarce and were built in 1965 at the Tians He Armory in China under Russian supervision   These varations are called Chi Com.  We would appreciate any additonal information that you may have on this SKS variation.  There is a spattering of information out there on these plastic stocked SKS rifle. Considering the Vietnam War and the effect of the jungle conditions, synthetic stocks make sense.  Both the Chinese and Russians supplied arms to the North and the Viet Cong.  As the war dragged on the weapon of choice  became the AK 47.  This may well explain the scarcity of these original plastic stocked SKS rifles.  Non Restricted.
