• Description:

  A Prussian built Charles Daly diamond quality 12 gauge shotgun.  This example shows 30 1/8" barrels, full and full with bright excellent bores and ejectors.  The action reflects the quality and reputation of the Prussian makers of the time.  The action shows 100% fine Arabesque engraving with the bottom panel showing a setter at point.  The water table is marked Prussia and shows mutted color.  The butt shows matching grain on both sides and typical fine checkered round knob pistol grip.  The original horn buttplate remains in place.  The forwood shows matching checkering and matched engraving on the metal. The triggerguard shows a vignette of partridge.  This piece is an ejector gun, 2 3/4 chambers.  The stocks show normal use but remain in excellent sound condition.  It would appear that only the horn cap is missing from the forestock.  The barrels are Excelsior Witten fluid steel.  This is an excellent example of an early Prussian built shotgun.  A quality shotgun that does not appear on the Canadian market with any regularity.  A piece for the serious shotgun collector.
