• Description:

  This piece is an excellent example of one of the 6000 Short Snider MK 3 rifles acquired by Canada 1872/1873 (reference see"Defending the Dominion" by David W. Edgecombe at page 56.)  This MK3 Short Snider shows stock marking D.C. over 93 BB and is noted as #12 on page 155 of the aforesaid reference .  This example remains in above average condition showing a bright excellent plus bore.  The steel barrel retains most of its' original blue, sights, rod and snap cap.  The wood shows most of its' original finish and clear markings.  An above average example of a Canadian MK 3 Short Snider.
