One of the scarce 1000 Canadain pattern 1893 bayonets built by Wilkinson for the Martini-Metford MKII rifle. All of these bayonets are dated 2/94 and unit marked to the Royal Regiment of Canada. This piece show RRC1 300 on the crossguard. The scabbard is correct and marked RRC1 #280 as with the majority of these bayonets . This blade shows overall staining and has not been cleaned or polished. The wood grips both show the correct crown 49 inspector stamp. This example is issue #300 out of 1000 with a low survival rate. The scabbard shows the correct proofs and 1890 date. A piece for the Canadian collector.
