  This item is a very interesting Canadian issue Lee-Enfield MK 1 carbine.  This example shows all matching numbers on the barrel, receiver, bolt and rear sight.  The bore shows overall light corrosion and sound rifling.  This carbine was one from the first batch of 2300 carbines acquired by Canada in 1896.  The butt shows the M&D mark on the right indicating the initial issue to the Canadian Militia.  In September 1914, the RNWMP acquired 1000 carbines from the militia including SN 336.  The butt was then stamped with the RNWMP stamp and the issue #631. This carbine shows sound wood with normal issue and service marks.  A sound carbine for the Enfield or RCMP collector.
