• Description:

  SN 42L 9742 is a 1943 dated Long Branch rifle in above average condition. This rifle shows that it was issued or placed in English stores.  The left side of the receiver rings shows an English proof over 48 date.  This example shows a bright excellent bore, matching numbers and no evidence of actual usage on the magazine plate or bolt face.  The piece is mounted with a MKIII Long Branch rear sight.  The wood remains in as new condition showing the Canadian arsenal mark CA on the forewood and C broad on the butt.  This suggests that this 1943 dated rifle was refurbished in the post war era but not reissued.  An above average condition rifle for the Lee Enfield collection.
