  Enfield dated 1882 MKIII Martini-Henry Canadian issued rifle in 577-450.  This example remains in above average condition and is one of the 5000 MKII and MKIII Martinis acquired by Canada in 1885.  This example remains in above average excellent condition showing a bright excellent plus bore; 95% plus original blue and excellent original wood finish.  This collector grade example shows all markings to be clear and crisp.  The DC diamond and rondel rate above average .  This is one of the 5000 as originally ordered and one that survived the various scrap sales by the Canadian Government.This piece comes with its' original rod and is mounted with an original buff leather issue sling.  An excellent plus Canadian issue Martini Henry which are described as being reasonably rare by David Edgecombe in his work" Defending the Dominion" .  For reference see the same pages 71 to 80.
