  SN 25308 is a BSA, commercial Lee Speed rifle #C0708. This nitr proof rifle shows an overall corroded but shootable bore. This Lee Speed shows a matching bolt. The knox form indicates the rifle was regulated by the well known Bisley Gunsmith G Fulton. The bolt cover shows the name L.R. Tippings Mistly Manningtree. L.R. Tippings was in international shot and rifle expert. He was a noted builder of target rifles prior to WW1. he was also the author of "Modern Rifle Shooting". There are various articles on tippings and his Son (World Class Shooter) on the net. This rifle shows excellent metal and approx. 90% original finish . The front site was recapped with a copper tip; which was obviously the decision of the original owner and shooter. The left side shows the base of a long range target sight. The wood rates as excellent being commercial English Black walnut. An interesting Lee Speed which was either a personal weapon or sold by the noted builder L.R. Tippings.
