- Description:
SN 36560 is an excellent example of a Browning Midas grade superpose shotgun. This example (S5 code) was built in 1965. The Midas grade was built between 1964 to 1972 with a total production of 2,193 units. This piece shows 28" barrel choked skeet & skeet. The bore rates bright excellent. Our examination of the barrels show that at some point the barrel unit was professionaly refinished. The barrel markings show a slight thiness related to polish and refinishing. The receiver shows all it's original finish, 18K gold inlays and exceptional engraving. The engraver was A. Dierckx as marked on the right side of the frame. See page 190 of "The Browning Superposed" by Ned Schwing. This example shows exceptional engraving, ejector trip rods, 18Kt gold plating and the best quality walnut with super fine checkering. The wood remains in exceptional condition and is mounted with a factory Browning pad. This piece is one of the earlier Midas grade guns with the round knob and long tang stock. This piece comes in an original Browning case. The price reflects the refinished barrels. Non restricted.
