• Description:

  An India Pattern Type 2 1809 Brown Bess musket.  This example was issued to a British unit.  The right side of the butt shows a W D mark and most of a broad arrow mark.  The lock is original and shows excellent plus markings.  Ref - see page 153 of "The Brown Bess" by Goldstein and Mowbray.  Overall excellent metal and wood.  The unpolished brass shows a nice aged petina.  A war of 1812 era musket in "out of the attic" condition.  The rod is an original but shortened.
