British Patt 1876 Socket Bayonet

• Description:

  Bayonet built for the Martini-Henry, 21.7" blade and overall 25".  This example rides in an uncommon brown leather scabbard.  This variation has the shorter socket.  The brass stud was ground to remove a unit marking.  The chape shows an old solder repair at the tip.  This bayonet was built in 1886 and reissued in 96.  This brown leather was approved for use by native troops in India.  A less common variation.  Overall very good to excellent condition, 95% original blue on socket, original bright blade.
