- Description:
AN excellent example of the 1845 Victorian infantry officers sword. Thisd example shows an excellent 321/2" blade showing the Victorian crown. This example was built per 1854 as it retains the hinged flap on the guard. The left side of the blade shows the maker/retailer name London. The blade has been polished in the past but shows the orginal markings. The guard is brass but plated for an owner at a later date. The grip shows an excellent grip and bindings. The sword comes with it'sleather scaabbard. This piece was acquired in rural Nova Scotia and was probably a sword carried by an officer in the Nova Scotia militia or in one of the later units from there. A nice clean example that appears to have seen many years of service.
