  • Description:

SN #5.  At the end of WW2, Italy adopted the M1 Garand rifle.  Beretta began to build the Garand in the late 1950's partially on Winchester tooling.  The total production is etimated at 100,000 rifles.  The rifle offered is serial # 5. Any collectable military rifle with single digit number is considerd to be a rare item.  This example shows overall excellent condition, 97% original Parkerized finish, excellent plus 30-06 caliber bore and excellent wood showing minor usage marks.  As with most military  rifles this piece was probably stripped and cleaned in a military arsenal.  This would explain the PB 529 # on the butt.  The receiver shows the crown F.K.F. mark ( one of the rifles built by Beretta on contract for Denmark.)  This rifle is mounted with a post war style sling with the thicker weave pattern.  A very scarce and collectable Garand variation for the serious military rifle collection.
