This is one of the Baker style of bayonets that were very popular with the native troops, slightly different directions from the regular British service pieces. This example is very similar to #18 on page 319 "British & Commonwealth Bayonets" by Skennerton. A length of 27 1/4 , blade 22 3/8. ,ribbed brass grip very similar to the British service bayonet. The top of the pommel shows a Sanskrit serial mark. Sound blade and brass hilt.
