Arabian Silver Mounted Jambiya Dagger

• Description:

  An antique vintage silver mounted dagger.  This appears to be a tribal Yemen Arabian knife.  This example shows a double edged 7 1/2" blade with wood grip embellished on the exterior side with unpolished silver panels and wire.  This piece rides in a scabbard with a 3" silver throat and a 4" embellished base cap.  The centre wood scabbard is covered with a thin black leather overlaid with 5 silver rings.  The only leather loss is at the base.  This unit is mounted on 3" embellished leather belt.  Both the Jambiya and belt show obvious age suggesting late 19th or early 20th century.  This piece remains in it's as "brought back" condition showing no polish or recent repairs.  A collector grade example.
