  • Description:

Antique US issue Hall rifle buit and dated 1831.  This is one of the 19,680 flint Halls built by Simeon North, Midl/Conn (1830-1836).  The most convenient reference is found in Flayderman's Guide as to the history and function of this early breech loading rifle.  As with many of the Hall rifles, this example was converted to percussion and reconverted back to flint in the 1960's-70's.  The metal shows an overall brown finish, a well executed reconversion and pitting mostly on the breech and triggerguard.  The bore shows rifling and the correct counter bored 1-1/2" muzzle.  The wood remains in sound condition showing some old repairs.  This Hall comes with an original bayonet marked U.S. over 5/39. The bayonet rides in it's correct brown leather scabbard.  The model 1819 (Hall) bayonet is considered to be a rare bayonet as is the complete scabbard.  A less than common Hall rifle on the Canadian market. Note: all antique weapons are sold as such.  We cannot advise as to the firing of any antique firearms.
