  • Description:

Antique Kentucky rifle marked and built by J. Hagy of Lancaster, PA, builder (1800-1806) . This Kentucky shows a 45 1/4" barrel in 50 caliber.  Unfortunately, the bore is basically shot out from extended use of approximately 200 years.  Hagy is one of the less known makers of the era.  This piece shows it's original flint.  The wood is original striped maple with typical brass mounted fixtures of the era.  The wood appears to be sound showing no major repairs or breaks. The octagon barrel shows its original sights with remnants of brown finish.  This classic Kentucky shows an overall length of 61" and is mounted with a classic three part patch box.  This is a classic original Kentucky rifle of the 1790-1830 era . For quick reference see pages 548 to 555 of Flaydermann's Guide 8th Ed. Despite the bore condition this rifle rates at very good conditon.  A great item to mount in a den or over a fireplace.
