  SN 102827 is a US Government Civil War 44 caliber revolver.  This example shows a bright very good to excellent bore and the various inspector marks on the various parts.  This revolver shows traces of it's original blue, some light pitting and an overall brown finish.  The action is working and appears to be very sound.  The lock up bolt appears to be worn. We cannot recommend the shooting of any antique weapon.  We suggest that these not be shot unless it is examined and tested by a licensed gunsmith.  A nice example of a U.S. Civil War issued revolver.
