  • Description:

An excellent small bore percussion Fowler.  This example shows a back action lock marked Redfern.  The maker appears to be Horatio Redfern who was a Birmingham maker 1829-1850. This light Fowler weighs 5 lbs and shows a small 28 bore, 32 1/2" octogan to round London built barrel.  The barrel shows an excellent brown Damascus finish.  The under rib remains in excellent condition and is mounted with it's original rammer.  The walnut stock shows it's original checkering, sound original finish with normal usage marking.  The butt shows a 4 1/4" center mounted cap trap.  The barrel shows the correct Birmingham proofs on the underside.  This small Fowler shows a 12 1/2" LOP.  This may have been a Fowler built for a lady or a person of smaller stature.  The bore shows light corrosion but remains in above average condition.  This Fowler will make an excellent addition to any quality collection.
