SN 147792 is a Winchester 1886 carbine in 45-70 caliber. History: This carbine was purchased and sold by us approximately 5 years ago. The carbine was all original but lacked collector condition in both the metal and wood. The item was purchased by one of our valued customers who's intention was to have the carbine professionally restored. This item was exported to the U.S. to Turnbull MFG Co in Bloomfield NY. We recently repurchased this carbine from our customer. We are now offering this totally restored carbine to the Canadian collector community. The item is described as follows. Condition new, unfired new 22" barrel with its original sights fitted. Wood- new butt and forend, dull oil finish magazine tube receiver and all component parts finished or replaced if necessary. All metal markings restored to original factory standards. The lever was color case hardened as was the hammer. The end result of this restoration is a new/unfired 1886 field grade carbine. The cost to our customer for this work was well in excess of $5000 US dollars. The Turnbull restoration is recognized the foremost name in vintage firearm restoration. There are numerous Turnbull restored vintage Winchesters for sale on the net priced in US dollars. This carbine is being offered for sale in Canada in Canadian dollars. This carbine would without question be an exceptional additon to any Winchester collection.
