• Description:

  SN 6946 is one of the Colt 1911 pistols as sold to Canada in 1914.  This Canadian contract piece shows 97% bright original Colt blue finish.  The bore rates as bright excellent.  The grips are factory original to the pistol and rate excellent.  An overall excellent example.  There is a 1976 Colt letter to this item.  The pistol was one of a shipment of 1000 that were shipped to a Wesley Allison at Waddington, NY on Sept. 1, 1914.  These pistols were then taken to Canada despite the US restriction on shipping firearms out of the then neutral USA.  An excellent example original letter is included.
