U.S. Built Cutlass WW2 MILSCO Sword
Naval Cutlass built in the USA by Milsco (Milwaukee Saddlery Co) for the Dutch, just before the start of WW2. This sword shows a similar blade to the 1917 U.S. cutlass with an open cup guard similar to the Dutch Klewans Model 1898 cutlass. These were mostly used in the Dutch East Indies. The pieces that could not be delivered were sold by Milsco to the US Navy and most were sold as surplus after WW2. This example remains in excellent condition.
