  • Description:

SN 175856 is an 1894 Winchester rifle built in 1900 per Madis and 1903 as per polishing room records.  This is a slightly scarcer variation of the 1894 with a full size take down mag.  The barrel is 26" Win 32-40 caliber. This rifle shows a number of scarcer features. 1.  It is one of only 78,000 round barrel built up to SN 700,000.  2. It is one of only 12,186 rifles and carbines built in 32-40 caliber.  3. It is one of only 2758 take down rifles.  In addition there were fewer full magazines take downs built then the shorter variations. This rifle shows most of it's  original blue turned plumb with sharp clear markings.  Unfortunately, this example shows a corroded bore overall related to corrosive ammo usage.  The wood rates as very good plus with no indication of sanding at anytime.  A collector grade and scarce 1894 Winchester despite the bore condition as described.
