Original Polearm Iron Spontoon

An original "dug Up" polearm spontoon. This example shows an overall length of 12 1/2". The leaf blade shows the median ridge and an old armor-piercing expanded tip. The 5" socket shows a decorative ring. The socket show 10 flats and 2 secure 2 mounting rivets. This piece appears to be from the 1720 to 1750 era. This piece was dug up in North America and may have been used as a polearm in the Revolutionary war and may be of French origin.
