SN 5921 is an antique double rifle built by the noted British gunsmith, Joseph Lang and Son of 22 Cockspur St. London as noted on the barrel.  This double rifle shows 26" barrels with bright excellent 50 caliber bores.  The barrels show Henry's rifling A&T on the barrel base and the numbers 1016 & 1017.  The multi groove rifled bores rate as bright excellent.  The barrel rib is 1/2" wide and is mounted with 120, 160 and 200 yard sight.  The barrels show an excellent Damascus brown finish. The action shows a fine floral engraving and a Jones underlever.  The tangs, sidelocks and hammers show the same fine hand engraving.  The action is sound and tight.  The right hammer spur shows that the spur was broken at some point in time and repaired.  The body of the hammer shows all of its' original engraving. The LOP from the rear trigger is 14" .  The wood shows minor usage marks but remains in sound original condition with matching engraving throughout.  This rifle takes a 500 3" express cartridge perfectly but a chamber cast is recommended prior to shooting the rifle.  The reference antique cartridge is included for the purpose above noted.  An all matching tight antique double rifle that was built prior to 1889 when the Lang firm moved to the New Bond street address in London. An excellent example of a classic English double rifle by one of the noted British makers.  Antique
