Small Pistol Powder Flask
Excellent small antique powder flask. This piece shows an overall length of 4 1/4" from the top of the spout to the ring stud at the bottom. The maximum width at the bulge is 1 1/2". All original body finish with one small dint on both sides of the body. The brass is unpolished with natural petina and original iron screws. The spring shows its original fire blue finish. The spout is marked drams 3/8 and 5/8 on the bottom. An exceptional example of a small cased pistol flask, it would appear to be a Dixon flask but is not named. Similar pieces are shown on pages 274 & 275 of "The Flask Book" by Riling.
