British Type 1 1888 MK 1 Bayonet Rig

• Description:

  First Type 1888 British bayonet.  This examples shows the three brass rivets and clearance hole in the grips.  Built at Enfield, the bayonet shows a sound blade with some fine staining (pitting). This pattern bayonet was in production for a relatively short period of time up to 1890 when the MK1 2nd type came into production.  This piece shows 5 dates of inspection, the last being 1905.  This example comes in an original scabbard broad arrow and 1901 issue date.
