Webley MKV1 Commerical With Rare 7 1/2 Barrel

• Description:

  SN 135633 is a very scarce commercial Webley MK V1 revolver in 450/455 caliber.  This Webley was built with the very rare 7 1/2 " barrel .  The bore rates as bright excellent.  The finish rates as 90% plus commercial blue with some minor staining on the right side of the frame, some smudging on the left rear of the frame and one area of pitting above one cylinder and fluk on the cylinder.  Otherwise, this piece shows excellent finish and clear markings.  There is a photo of an example of this scarce Webely on page 210 of "Webley Revolvers" by Bruce and Reinhart.  This example shows the same marking and the 7 1/2" special barrel that was reserved for the W.S. or Wilkinson models.  The one as illustrated is SN 135007.  The piece as offered shows all matching numbers and is a commerical pistol built in the first 600 Mark VI revolvers.  it was built prior to the military contract of 1915.  A revolver for the serious Webley Collector .  Restricted Status.
