  SN 2Z2669 is a Spanish 1916 short rifle built from 1916 to 1951.  This example shows the crest on the receiver ring.  The nickel plated bolt is matching as are the mag plate and triggerguard.  The left side of the receiver is marked 7.2 caliber.  This would indicate that this is one of the rifles converted to 7.62 CETME.  A 308 round feeds nicely into the chamber.  Experts consider that this action is not built for the 308 Winchester round.  Based on this we recommend that the rifle be examined by a licensed gunsmith prior to shooting a 7.62 NATO round.  This rifle shows a bright excellent bore and a tight sound action.
