• Description:

  Scarce Sharps & Hawkings cavalry carbine.  This example is one of 1000 built during the U.S. Civil War.  Reference- 5F-094 Flayderman.  This piece shows the correct 19" barrel with a very good plus bore with solid rifling.  The frame shows minor trace of the original tinned finish. The rear sight is original.  The butt shows sound wood and an old added finish.  This carbine is mechanically sound but is missing the hammer mounted spring safety, as are many of the S&H carbines.  One of the scarcer Civil War era carbines.
