  A very scarce if not rare Winchester tang sight.  This is Lyman's first No 1 combination tang sight.  It does not show the Lyman name ,only the patent Jan 28/79 date.  This sight was introduced in 1878 and appears to be the 2nd variation that was used on both the 1876 &1886 Winchester rifles. It was built at some point between 1876 and 1884 when the patent date was changed. A complete and original No.1 Lyman sight.
