Scarce 1855 Canadian Sword Scabbard

  • Maker: Canadian
  • Model: Sword
  • Caliber/Gauge:

  • Description:

Rare sword scabbard for the 1855 Canadian sword.  These swords were intended for and issued to the Canadian militia cavalry prior to Confederation.  For the background history and information on this small batch of unique Canadian swords see the included photocopies.  5 page article "The First Canadian Sword by Norman J. Crook "Arms Collecting Vol 12 No 2.  This scabbard is identical to the one on the left side of page 56, including the missing throat.  This example is a marked C56 on the reverse.  Excellent overall except for minor usage marks.  This is an item worth very little unless you have a sword without a correct scabbard.
