  Savage 99 Musket as sold to the Montreal Homeguard in 1914.  303 Savage caliber, 26" barrel with a bright excellent bore, these rifles were puchased by the MHG for their newly formed private homeguard unit which was located in Westmount (Montreal).  There were 850 muskets shipped to Montreal as per the Savage records.  This piece shows 90 to 95% original blue on the barrel and action. It has original  sights and rebuilt forwood and front band.  The butt shows the issue # of 744 as applied by the MHG.  The wood shows usage marks but presents itself as a nice example.  An item for the Savage or the Canadian Collector.
