• Description:

  SN 130091 is an interesting Savage 1899 that was built in 1912.  This rifle shows a 24" barrel in 303 Savage with a bright excellent bore.  At some point in time after 1947 this rifle was sent back and rebarreled with the 24" barrel in the 303 caliber.  The barrel shows a ramp front sight with the 2 line Chicopee Mass address.  The piece shows a dull blue receiver and later bright blue barrel.  The butt is numbered to the gun and is the perch belly stock of the era.  The buttplate shows a slide open trap built to hold spare cartridge, oiler or a pull-through. An interesting old Savage 1899 that has seen many years of service.
