  An interesting all brass Navy sword with a plain bright excellent blade.The blade appears to be an officers choice of a fighting as opposed to the more common dress style. The 31 1/2" blade shows no markings, cypher, etc.  There is no makers name, only the brass proof.  The guard shows an excellent crown anchor and a Queen's crown.  All the brass remains in excellent condition as does the grip.  Some of the wire binding has loosened but can be corrected.  The sword knot remains but is frayed in the area of the guard.  A nice example of a late Victorian Navy sword.  The scabbard remains in sound condition with minor shrinkage.  Ref. page 6" Swords for the Sea Service" by May & Annis.
